about

LEBENSrhythmus is a long anticipated chapter of LEBENS experimental triptych which began with LEBENSwelt, continued with LEBENSernst and concludes with its deus ex machina sound experience, where otherworldly soundscapes meet harsh industrial noises. Physical copies coming soon with exclusive artwork by ZonderZond and distinctive afterword by post-wave Scottish author Samuel Gunn.

"A man in a white environmental suit walked a narrow path through the field of fire. He noticed two shadowy figures in the distance and tried to catch up with them. It was not safe to run across the path. He paced faster and it made the run harder - the suit limited movement but protected from high temperatures around. The figures were farther away and while he tried to examine them, a huge object fell to the left of the path and started sinking into the fire. He turned and looked down. It was an old piano that caught fire and was sinking slowly; the strings bursted inside of it, the wood crackled and made bizarre noises. Man in a suit froze and felt a force pulling him up into the stellar dome."
Samuel Gunn, "The Slumber", 2013

"I stepped outside. The air was still spiced with desert winds. I gazed at the helmet: very soon I’ll be back in a space abandoned by sound. The music was fading away and the party was about to end. Walking like that doesn’t make you proud. I made it as far as I could stepping clumsily. I pictured her coming back, looking for me among the crowd: her realization that I’m gone mixed with anger and confusion. It’s hard to breathe and my jaws twitch again. I hope she doesn’t catch up."
Samuel Gunn, "Jordan's Passage", 2016
